We are looking for talented Supervisory Emergency Management Specialists who are eager to assist disaster survivors. The ideal candidate for this position will have served as a leader in process improvement, program management or evaluation, or analysis in an office environment and will have managed the workload and performance of a team of staff.  They will have experience reviewing or developing processes, managing multiple competing priorities, and developing and delivering recommendations to senior level leadership. Experience or demonstrated interest in Public Assistance, grants management, disaster recovery, or emergency management is beneficial, but not required.

This position is a supervisory role that provides technical and administrative oversight to the Public Assistance Program Delivery Process Improvement staff. The candidate will be responsible for a wide variety of assignments that deal with implementing programmatic changes, improving tools and processes for the delivery of assistance, and analyzing and evaluating the effectiveness of program delivery for the Public Assistance Division. Responsibilities include setting priorities and performance goals for staff, managing multiple complex projects, maintaining accountability, communicating progress and addressing issues with leadership.
This position starts at a salary of $111,587.

Position Responsibilities

  • Planning, developing, and executing a variety of projects simultaneously
  • Leading major process improvement or program management initiatives
  • Providing expertise and developed criteria, procedures, and instructions in program review and oversight
  • Team management and supervision

Knowledge and/or Experience Required

  • To qualify for this position, candidates must demonstrate the ability to:Oversee the work of subordinated delivering disaster recovery
  • Provide direction and technical oversight to assure successful implementation of internal processes
  • Prepare and deliver briefings for senior level staff on key issues, findings and recommendations
  • Manage projects that require collaboration across multiple agencies, sections and departments
