Merriwether & Williams Insurance Services (MWIS) administers Contractor Development and Bonding Programs (CDABPs) for public and private entities seeking to maximize small contractor involvement in public construction. MWIS is seeking a Construction Account Manager (CAM) who will be primarily responsible for the growth and development of small and diverse construction businesses. The CAM will manage and assist with day-to-day responsibilities of the Contractor Development and Bonding Program, to include marketing support, contractor enrollment and assessments, development of business growth plans, contractor training and education workshops, coordination of underwriting, loan origination, loan servicing for the Contract Financing Assistance Program (CFAP). The CAM will manage a portfolio of small businesses and will track, report and attribute to their business growth. This position requires working knowledge in the construction industry (knowledge of public construction practices preferred but not required), understanding of local government structure, experience working in cross functional teams and with community stakeholders. In addition, the CAM must have a high level of organizational skills, excellent communication as well as computer and data management skills.

Job duties include, but are not limited to the following:

Contractor Assessments and Development

  • Conduct enrollment, assessments, and pre-qualifications for participating contractors
  • Assist contractors in creation of development plans, preparation for underwriting, and identification of appropriate education and training
  • Monitor contractor progress and performance
  • Respond to small contractor requests regarding contracting opportunities
  • Track and input data into MIS and Technical Assistance Report (TAR)
  • Assist with data compilation and analysis, create and track monthly progress reports

Loan Underwriting Coordination

Per Standard Operating Procedures gather:

  • Background and organizational Information
  • Financial Information
  • Specific project information
  • Coordination of loan origination documentation, per industry standard

Loan Servicing

In Coordination with Funds Administrator:

  • Monitor disbursement of Loan Proceeds
  • Monitor Loan Repayment
  • Conduct Loan Closeout
  • File UCC-3 Release

Education and Training

  • Assist with Training and Educational workshops and seminars in coordination with Program Sponsors and Partners
  • Assist in the preparation of training materials, planning and day of logistics

Experience, Education and Skills

  • Construction Documentation and Language
  • Project Labor Agreements
  • Labor Compliance
  • Small Business and Disadvantaged Business Certification Programs
  • Working knowledge of finance
  • Strong computer literacy
  • Self-starter and exercise responsible and sound Program management and coordination
  • Construction Industry and Lending experience a plus
  • Team player with strong critical analysis skills
  • Coordinate and manage multiple projects with changing priorities in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent time management skills and attention to detail are essential
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license and familiarity with public transportation

Salary
