We are seeking talented individuals who are eager to assist disaster survivors on an intermittent, on-call basis. FEMA Reservists are incident management responders, hired under the Stafford Disaster Relief and Emergency Assistance Act. Reservists are a significant factor in the agency workforce in responding to disasters. Several Emergency Management Specialist reservist positions are available within the Public Assistance program nationwide.

The Public Assistance Program Delivery Manager (Emergency Management Specialist) serves as the primary point of contact for general local municipalities, providing tailored customer service throughout the entire Public Assistance delivery process. In this position, you will serve as the primary interface with eligible municipalities affected by Presidentially declared events.

Position Responsibilities:

• Facilitating the delivery of Public Assistance grant funding on behalf of Applicants; this includes (but is not limited to) developing the list of damaged sites, scheduling site inspections, summarizing applicant damages, and coordinating requests for information and questions.
• Working with the applicants to resolve their program related needs ensuring projects are processed as efficiently and expeditiously as possible.
• Tracking and communicating the progress of all projects through the entire program delivery model in coordination with the Applicant.
• Gathering all required documentation to enable FEMA to write grants so the applicant can be returned to their Pre-Disaster condition as soon as possible.
• Conducting key informational meeting with applicant(s) in al phases of the process, from the exploratory call, to weekly updates, to the Recovery Transition Meetings.

Knowledge and/or Experience Required:

• Supporting a Public Assistance program and its associated policies to assist in the delivery process;
• Leading a team and monitoring the work of team members to ensure effective customer service and productivity;
• Providing customer service and/or client relations management in order to assist with identifying needs or resolve any issues;
• Delivering clear guidance to internal and external customers as it relates to complex, unusual, or unprecedented management initiatives;
• Providing technical advice and assistance on engineering and construction management practices;
• Presenting findings to a diverse audience and developing written communications including reports and presentations;
• Applying a wide range of analytical and evaluative methods and qualitative analysis to perform efficiency and effectiveness evaluations of programs or administrative support functions.
